The original "un-retouched" photograph of this twisted and weathered pine tree (in the rugged White Mountain area, near Big Pine, California) appears in my regular photo gallery. Occasionally, however, I like to mess around..I mean, "thoughtfully experiment"..with some of the many artistic filters in Photoshop. I felt that the shapes and textures in this particular image really lent themselves to alternative approaches . These are a few of my favorites, using (amongst others) the "watercolor" and "poster edges" filters.
